ISIDRO CHITO S CRUZ Obituary (1930

Isidro "Chito" S. Cruz, 83, of Libby, MT passed away Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center in Libby. He was born December 28, 1930 in Fairmont City, IL to Isidro S. and Carlota (Soto) Cruz. Chito grew up in Illinois and Washington. He entered the United States Army at the age of 21 and he lost his leg while serving his country in Korea in 1951. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1952. For over forty years, Chito repaired IBM office equipment. He retired in 1992 and on February 25, 1994, Chito married Helen Tucker in Reno, NV. Chito and Helen moved to Libby on February 29, 2000. He enjoyed building birdhouses and dollhouses. He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother. Survivors include his wife, Helen Cruz of Libby; Shelia Newman (Dale) of San Pablo, CA; Cindy Castaneda of Pinole, CA; Ron Cruz (Wanda) of Pittsburg, CA; Debi Wetzel (Don) of Yakima, WA; Parmer Sickler (Stephie) of Yakima, WA; Bruce Sickler (Lori) of Libby; 15 brothers and sisters; numerous grandchildren including Anthony Castaneda (Shannon); Santana Castaneda (Valerie); Melissa Newman; Emilo; Nicco; Natazio; Isaiah; Madisen; Brandon; and Emily; 2 great-grandchildren; special God-daughter Nicky Cich; and special family Silvestre, Alma, Edgar, Gio, Ivan, Jonathon, and Fernando Cano. Services for Chito will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, September 22, 2014, at Libby Christian Church, 100 Kootenai River Rd in Libby. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2014 and 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home, 422 W 2nd St in Libby.
